Christmas perfection

Entertaining Mr Stone
Published by · 15 December 2019
After just a little blood sweat and tears we're very happy to present our revamped website. We've moved it to a different platform, giving us a little more flexibility, and we hope you enjoy the change.
We're also excited to announce the imminent release of our first EP. We recorded the four tracks a month ago, working with Ashley Slater. Ashley's best known for his early years with the pioneering jazz collective Loose Tubes, and he enjoyed commercial success when teamed with Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim) in Freak Power. He brought a different set of ears to our arrangements, as well as adding some programmed bass (Dave did the drum programming). The result inevitably is not like our live performances; we're proud of the full sounds just the three of us can produce live, and adding drums and bass to the live band would change our venue options unhelpfully, but we're very pleased too with the extra dimensions of the recorded songs.
The EP's called Entertaining Mr Stone... and other stories. It has a seasonal flavour in its final track, Santa, a fond reflection (tinged with the melancholy of loss) from Steve about the things Christmas has meant to him over the years. It's a perfect last minute stocking filler at just five English pounds. We can post a copy to you though time is getting short for Christmas delivery. Better still come to our Christmas gig at the Ypres in Rye where the CDs will be available.
